Required elements of a notice
Per 17 U.S.C. § 512(c)(3), a valid notice must include each of the following:
- A physical or electronic signature of the copyright owner (or a person authorized to act on their behalf).
- Identification of the copyrighted work claimed to have been infringed (a single representative URL is sufficient if the notice covers a list of works).
- Identification of the material that is claimed to be infringing — a URL we can resolve.
- Your contact information: full legal name, mailing address, telephone number, and email address.
- A statement that you have a good-faith belief that the use is not authorized by the copyright owner, its agent, or the law.
- A statement, made under penalty of perjury, that the information in the notification is accurate and that you are authorized to act on behalf of the owner.
Counter-notice
If material you uploaded is removed and you believe the removal is mistaken, you may submit a counter-notice under 17 U.S.C. § 512(g)(3). The counter-notice must contain your signature, the URL of the removed material, your contact information, a statement under penalty of perjury that you have a good-faith belief the removal was a mistake, and your consent to the jurisdiction of the federal court where you reside (or the state of Utah, if you reside outside the U.S.).
Our takedown SLA on impersonation

The detection / response playbook lives at docs/geo/impersonation-defense.md.
Repeat-infringer policy
We terminate accounts (any portal or service) of users who are repeat infringers in appropriate circumstances, in accordance with 17 U.S.C. § 512(i).
Misuse warning
Knowingly material misrepresentations in a DMCA notice or counter-notice may subject the sender to liability for damages, including costs and attorneys' fees, under 17 U.S.C. § 512(f).
