    Aquila Corporation

The only wheelchair cushion with clinical proof of healing pressure sores — backed by a Cleveland Clinic study, 2 active patents, and thousands of users worldwide. The website wasn't telling that story. We fixed that.

    SofTech vs. static cushions

    The problem

Aquila Corporation manufactures the SofTech cushion — the only dynamic alternating pressure wheelchair cushion with published peer-reviewed clinical evidence, including a 5-year Cleveland Clinic study and NIH presentation. That story was buried. Healthcare providers and equipment suppliers arriving at the site couldn't quickly find clinical proof, compare SofTech against static alternatives, understand HCPCS code E2609 for insurance billing, or navigate the order process without lengthy back-and-forth. The website was underselling a product with genuinely superior clinical credentials.

    Our approach

    • Led with clinical authority: 5-year Cleveland Clinic study, 12-patient comparative research, and Dr. Barry Farr physician case study surfaced as primary proof points — not buried in footnotes
    • Built a direct comparison table (SofTech vs. static cushions) across 10 key features, making the clinical and functional advantages impossible to miss
    • Created technical specification pages covering the Auto-Start feature, Manual Rocker Switch, battery life (24–30 hours continuous), patented air bladder 60-second cycle system, and the optional Moisture Control Unit
    • Structured the product around two buyer types: wheelchair users seeking independence and healing; clinicians and equipment suppliers ordering for patients
    • Highlighted HCPCS Code E2609 and insurance coordination clearly on every relevant page — removing the most common pre-purchase friction point for healthcare procurement
    • Built an order request flow designed for healthcare provider procurement: consultation, custom configuration, and no-minimum ordering with 18-month warranty documentation

    What we delivered

    • SofTech product platform: hero, feature breakdown, technical specs, and Auto-Start vs. Manual comparison
    • Clinical evidence section: Cleveland Clinic study, NIH, Dr. Farr case study, Minnesota nursing home documentation
    • SofTech vs. static cushions comparison table (10 criteria)
    • HCPCS E2609 billing guidance and insurance coordination page
    • Order request flow designed for healthcare procurement
    • Customer stories section: Stewart Ims (equipment supplier), Jud Hurley (spinal cord injury), Lisa Martinez (multiple sclerosis)

    The outcome

Healthcare providers and equipment suppliers now arrive at a site that leads with clinical proof, explains the technology clearly, addresses insurance billing directly, and provides a clear path to order. The credibility gap between the product's clinical standing and its web presence is closed.

Have had this cushion for the last 8 years and it is a life saver. Peace of mind knowing you are protected all day.
