    Marketing Automation

    Short definition

Marketing automation is software that triggers messages, tasks, and workflows based on lead behavior — replacing manual follow-up with rules-based or AI-driven sequences.

    In depth

Marketing automation lives inside or adjacent to a CRM and is the engine behind 'every lead gets a text in 60 seconds'. Triggers can be form fills, page visits, email opens, calendar bookings, or stage changes in a pipeline. Common automations for service businesses: instant lead response, no-show reminders, post-quote follow-up, review requests, win-back sequences. Mature automation cuts response time, lifts close rate, and frees the team from rote follow-up.

    Example

A roofer wires up a five-step text-and-email sequence after every estimate. Booked-job rate from estimates rises from 24% to 38% with no extra sales effort.
